Croeso I Blwyddyn Pedwar!

We have had a great start to the new academic year, having all settled into our class well! Our class teacher is Miss Eaves and this term we are lucky to have a student teacher from USW called Miss Andrews!

Our Topic
This term our topic is ‘Operation Ouch’ which is based around the 70 year anniversary of the NHS. So far we have found out about life before the NHS, the introduction of the NHS and the founder ‘Aneurin Bevan’. We have also been learning about how to look after our teeth in Science. We investigated how drinks can cause tooth decay by leaving eggs in different liquids. The shell of the egg represented the enamel of the tooth. Take a look at our eggs at the moment:

This week we were also lucky enough to receive some First Aid training from St John’s Ambulance – we now feel informed enough to know how to respond in an emergency.

We are trialling a new approach to homework whereby all pupils are given a grid with 9 tasks to choose from. Each week they will need to select a task to complete and return to school by the Wednesday.
