Maendy is a ‘Rights Respecting School’.  The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.

Our school target is 95.5%. The school’s current attendance record is 95.2%. Below is the weekly attendance for all year groups:

Nursery 87% Reception 93.4% Year 1 94.7% Year 2 97.1% Rising 3’s 89.6%

Year 3 95.8% Year 4 94% Year 5 95.7% Year 6 95% SNRB 90.5%

This year, Torfaen Council’s education service have launched a ‘Strive for 95!’ initiative to improve pupil attendance and reduce unauthorised absence in all Torfaen schools. Every pupil who achieves 95% attendance or higher during each school term will be entered into a prize draw at the end of the school year to win £50 of high street vouchers. Please see Torfaen’s website for further details; https://www.torfaen.gov.uk/en/EducationLearning/SchoolsColleges/AttendanceBehaviourWelfare/AttendanceatSchool/School-Attendance.aspx
